Hockey Night in Raleigh
Tonight was a weeknight hockey game, which is a pretty special treat for Brian! He and Brandon got to enjoy the game, and were surprised to find a big snowman outside the arena! I guess they must have pushed every last bit of snow in the parking lot from the other day together to make this guy. 🙂 I stayed home with Kendall, who showed me her mastery of the stacking/nesting cups. She was so proud of herself, she just laughed and laughed about it! Even after getting her pajamas on, she...

Today we woke up to a little bit of snow dusting the grass. It wasn’t cold enough for it to cause any problems on the road, but it was plenty for Brian to get excited about! (It was Pajama Day at school, if you’re wondering about his awesome outfit. 😉 We didn’t have a ton of time, but we did manage to let him play a little before going to school, while Brandon cleaned off the car. Kendall got to wear her new penguin hat, which lasted all of about 15 seconds before...

This morning was a speech day, so Brian and Brandon had to leave early.. The kids did get to have a little breakfast together, and Brian thought Kendall should have a few pieces of Pirate Booty–a little wacky for a breakfast side dish, but, I think it was a hit! She was so cute in what I call her 80’s outfit–sparkly stripes with some rhinestones and a ruffled skirt over leggings.. I need to get a full length shot of it. 😉 Anyway, these early mornings can be rough on us...

Kendall’s teachers have been sending her home with her hair in a little topknot lately! They say she likes it. (I think they like being able to clean her face easier!) So, this morning I did it up with a little bow. I do find that she likes getting her hair brushed, though, especially just before bed. She seems to find it relaxing, whereas Brian would scream at the sight of a hairbrush at her age! (Lucky for us, his hair is straight and smooth and rarely requires brushing!) She...

Today was Nico’s birthday party, at Chuck E. Cheese. Brandon and I haven’t been to one since we were kids, and in some ways, it hasn’t changed at all.. The fake pop songs are takeoffs of 80’s tunes now, some were clearly Tears for Fears rips (I guess we’re in the sweet spot for parental demographics in there!) Maybe it’s the way the place assaults an older person’s senses, but overall it seemed to be brighter, louder, and altogether more...

Holy moly, what an action-packed day! To start off our busy Saturday, Brandon took Brian to the Lowe’s Build and Grow program. Brian got to build a wooden garage and a little car to go in it, with a real hammer and nails! He got to decorate them with stickers, and he was so proud of his creation. What a fun (free!) activity at the local Lowe’s store. We’re going to have to sign up for more of these! I stayed home with Kendall and we had a little girl time to ourselves....
