Friday Night Out
It’s Friday Night, and a Parent Night Out, and even though Brian had his Initiation to Hockey class, we didn’t want to miss out! I’m still recovering from surgery, but things seem a little better today and I thought I might be up for going out. I took it easy for awhile as Brandon took Brian to class after school. Today was Brian’s last day of Lego camp, and his last day of summer camps, period! He was hiding under the table when we came to pick him up, but he got to make and keep a minifigure, so that made saying goodbye a little easier. 😉 This morning before camp, we took Brian over to Root for Meet the Teacher day, where we all got to meet his new teacher, Mrs. Hounwanou. Brandon and I got to enjoy a rare night out at the NC Symphony! It was a Sci-Fi Spectacular, featuring music from Star Wars, Star Trek, and many other TV shows and movies that we like. Plus, a special appearance by Mr. George Takei himself! We were also surprised to see a number of Star Wars characters in full costume. We posed for some photo ops to share with Brian. Tonight was our last date night before Baby K’s arrival! We both left work early today for our next-to-last doctor’s appointment. The doctor said Baby K is probably about 7.5 lbs now, and will probably be 8.5 lbs when she arrives! Everything’s going well with the pregnancy, so it’s just a waiting game now. After our appointment, we went to see a movie, A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas. It was our first movie in 3D, and we thought the effect was a little silly. ...

Tonight was Parent Night Out, and we enjoyed a nice dinner at Winston’s Grille while Brian had a pizza party at school. We shared some tasty crab dip, and Brandon had the Triple Crown, and Alison had shrimp and grits. We topped off our excellent meal with a peanut butter brownie with ice cream, yum!
