Bizarro world?!
What kind of a crazy world is this? I come back from Brno to find (gasp!) PAPER TOWELS in the washrooms at work. Clearly some sort of dimensional rift is at work here, and I’ve returned to Bizarro World. 😉 (Hand dryers vs. paper towels has been a long-standing battle at work for going on three years–our Facilities folks have been die-hard hand dryer holdouts, but they must have folded (ha!) in the name of Freedom of Choice, or...

Happy birthday to me! Tonight we shared the surprise cake that Brian decorated, and some chocolate-dipped fruit that Brandon gave me as well. I did end up ordering a couple of those emoji pillows like I’d seen in Vegas–one is a gift that I won’t reveal yet, but the “embarrassed/nervous laugh” is my soul emoji, the one I use the most. 😅 (See, I’m embarrassed/laughing just admitting...

I’d been studying hard, and it paid off! I got a score of 99%, good enough to be invited to join the SANS Advisory Board. Nice! My director says I will get a nice wooden plaque as well. 🙂 I’m glad I have a security certification now, to go along with my Red Hat and Splunk certs....

Today was my last day in Vegas, and it was a long one! I was happy to see some women represented in the “backs of heads” advertising campaign–I’d complained about that earlier this year, when it seemed that only dudes used Splunk as their secret weapon. 😉 The conference wrapped up, and we had some time to kill before our plane home, so did some souvenir shopping. The soap store, where everything looked like a dessert, was a lot of fun! I wish I could have gotten...
