Today was my last day in Vegas, and it was a long one! I was happy to see some women represented in the “backs of heads” advertising campaign–I’d complained about that earlier this year, when it seemed that only dudes used Splunk as their secret weapon. 😉 The conference wrapped up, and we had some time to kill before our plane home, so did some souvenir shopping. Third verse, same as the first! Another day of conference fun. Today there was a Women in Tech luncheon, and I laughed at the place settings when I sat down–salad and chocolate, for the ladies. So typical it could’ve come right out of Getty Images or something. 😉 Luckily real food was forthcoming. We were annoyed this morning, as breakfast was much later than advertised–so there were 4,000 hungry attendees milling around while we waited for the food to be ready! Not...

Woohoo, Vegas!! Um, hardly, it’s work. 😉 Other than the bright lights at the keynote speeches this morning, it was a day of wall-to-wall conference, as I attended as many security-focused panels as I could fit into my day. There was a party again this evening, but we were disappointed that the food wasn’t as varied or as good as last year. The giant inflatable Buttercup Pony was back, though, so I had to take photos for the kiddos....

I’m off to Las Vegas again today, for this year’s Splunk conf, once again at the MGM Grand. I’m not speaking this year, so hopefully, I can relax and just learn a whole lot! The travel was uneventful, but I took photos for the kids to keep them updated. Brandon took the kids to Chick-Fil-A for dinner tonight, always a treat! I had somewhat-disappointing appetizers for dinner, as we walked around the vendor showcase room. The conference gets under way officially tomorrow...

Today was my last day in Vegas, and while my tummy troubles have abated, I’m developing some sore-throat/sinusy-thing–sheesh, I’d be having a better time if my body would cooperate and just be healthy for five minutes! We went to more talks today, and finished up our trip by getting dinner at a fancy restaurant (Pearl, a Chinese place inside the MGM) and going to see a Cirque du Soleil show, Ka.
