Springtime at Fred Fletcher Park
We had a fun, busy day today! The kids were active early, playing piano (okay, that’s a charitable way to view it–mostly vying for position on the bench, trying to not get caught shoving each other!) We heard one of them start singing the classic “Lollipop” song by the Chordettes (1958)–soon enough, both of them were singing it at top volume. We asked if they’d heard the original, and, long story short, we ended up watching a whole pile of black-and-white...

We may be back from the beach, but we’re still on spring break! Today we decided to enjoy the nice weather and take the kids to Laurel Hills park to play. We had picked up a pair of Hello Kitty walkie-talkies at the beach, which Kendall spotted in the Best Buy. We let the kids play with them at the park, even though they’re a bit noisy, and don’t work all that well! Walkie-talkie hide-and-seek was a fun game, and some of the other kids wanted to get in on the action....

Today we decided to head out to Shelley Lake to feed the ducks! It had been awhile, and we had a ton of bread heels to distribute. It started feeling like fall today, so Kendall wore her first long sleeves of the year and her sparkly red corduroy pants. I’d been waiting months for her to be able to wear this shirt! It’s an adorable parody of the classic AC/DC logo, but it says AB/CD instead, to fit in with the preschool set. 😉 It makes me chuckle! It attracted a lot of...

Today was Brian’s final School-Family Partnership day with his Root Preschool class! Brandon and I both attended, and Brian was very excited to visit Pullen Park with us during the middle of a weekday! I think he liked having both of us to himself. 🙂 Ms. Sarah Catherine and Ms. Misty were there, and just a couple of Brian’s friends from class. Brian loved all the usual hotspots, including the train ride, mini boats, sand diggers, climbing structures, see-saws, and carousel. It...

Brian has been really into Moe’s lately, I guess all the commercials that air during the hockey games are really working on him! He loves the one where the business woman on her headset walks into Moe’s, the staff says “Welcome to Moe’s!” and she’s transformed into a rockstar type, walking in slow-motion to a bluesy guitar riff. Brian likes this so much that when he gets dressed, he’ll often make an entrance in slo-mo, singing the riff from the...
