Art on Sunday, Trace’s Birthday

Today Kendall went to a birthday party for her friend Trace.  It was at one of those indoor play/bouncy places, so Brandon was on duty (I can’t stand the noise in those places, not to mention how every surface manages to feel sticky..)  This afternoon, both kids used their new colored pencils, a souvenir from the Netherlands that Nana brought back.  Brian wanted to make a picture of tulips like on the box, and asked me to find him some photos like that (I’ve included some below)....

Dentist Visit

Dentist Visit

Today was the kids’ dentist visit, and we’re proud to report:  no cavities!  Both kids did great, and got to choose a prize afterward.  Brian was pretty excited to get a mini Rubik’s cube!  When we took him back to school, we were happy to see not one, but two pieces of Brian’s artwork, framed and hanging up on the main hallway’s wall at Root!  One was his collage that had been at the State Fair, and the other was him being a super hero, rescuing a puppy.  Great...

Creativity Abounds!

Gotta love the creativity of these kids. However, we need an additional house just to hold all of the creative output! Ignoring that for a moment, let’s see what the kids did today! First, we had an outing to the latest Lowe’s Build and Grow event! This Saturday, Brian built the “Science Lab 2.0”. It included a beaker and flask that he did NOT have to build.
