Sat Build, Sun Pullen/Reading/Marbles
Welcome to a weekend edition post! On Saturday, Brian started out by going to the Lowe’s Build and Grow Hawkeye’s Quinjet Clinic. Hawkeye is a character from Marvel’s Avengers and Avengers Assemble. On Sunday, Alison spent a well-deserved afternoon at the day spa! While she was there, Brian was at his North Carolina State University 2015 Reading Skills Program for Entering 2nd Graders. As I had been feeling guilty about taking Brian on a few trips to Pullen Park by himself...

Kendall was up early this morning, and decide to bring all her ponies into our bathroom (?) for a pony party. Okay Kendall, we get it, we’re awake…! Sheesh. We haven’t had a weekend this summer that has been good for backyard splash fun yet, so we decided that today had to be the day, even though the ground was a bit soggy and clouds were in the forecast. Happy 4th of July! The kids had a second round of fun with the kiddie pool in the backyard today. We were comfortable “tailgating” in the back of the van as we waited for sunset, and our folding lawn chairs were great seats...

I think it’s safe to say she liked it! 🙂 We had grand plans for a splash day playdate with Ty today, soaking up all the July sun and heat we could handle. But the weather had different plans, being a lot cooler and wetter than we’d expected! But, we did have some clear patches, and we made the most of it! We splashed and played and played with sprinklers and such, on the already-muddiest summer...

This morning, the kids both went to the Lowes Build and Grow session, and made a cool Turbo pull-back toy! We weren’t familiar with Turbo, but found the movie on Netflix afterward, and watched it with lunch! Pretty cute. This afternoon, after playing downstairs for awhile (with the kids abusing Brandon by riding him like a horse!) we decided to make use of the canopy we’d bought on the way back from the beach and Brandon’s new grill, and have a cookout. It’s a...
