July Playdate with Ty

This morning, I surprised Kendall with a felt cupcake I made for her last night.  I think it’s safe to say she liked it! 🙂  We had grand plans for a splash day playdate with Ty today, soaking up all the July sun and heat we could handle.  But the weather had different plans, being a lot cooler and wetter than we’d expected!  But, we did have some clear patches, and we made the most of it!  We splashed and played and played with sprinklers and such, on the already-muddiest summer backyard you can imagine. 😉  So, the pool became a muddy puddle rather quickly, but the kids didn’t seem to mind.  In any case, we hosed them down really well before going inside. 😉  Once everyone was dry and changed, we had a fun lunch of mac and cheese, hotdogs, and veg.  Brandon had been watching some Neil DeGrasse Tyson lectures on Netflix, and somehow, the boys had the attention span to keep watching them.  Awesome. 🙂  Pretty soon, the boys wanted dessert, and I hooked them up with some cute Japanese cookies I had on hand–Every Burger, cute cookies that look like little burgers, Yan Yan (like Pocky, but you dip the cookie sticks in a Nutella-like substance), and even the cute chocolate-covered biscuits that look like mini ice cream cones.  Needless to say, they loved all of that. 😉  The kids played some more until it was time for Ty to go home.  I did puzzles with Kendall while the boys played Star Wars and such.  I found some really interesting creations afterward!  Ice cream in the AT-AT?  Sure, why not?! 😉

Also included, Brian’s ninja turtle choreography, using his creation from yesterday:

Grandpa is not a fan of Dr. Tyson so we have only watched one or two of his programs. Looks like you had a lot of fun in your backyard pool.
