Pumpkins! Piano!
Today was a rainy day, but Kendall brightened it up with her sunny smile (and her Lego flashlight guy!) Brian was excited to have a Hurricanes hockey clinic during PE, and got this cool souvenir cup. Our Produce Box included a pair of decorate-your-pumpkin add-on kits for the kiddoes, so we let them decorate a couple small pumpkins this afternoon with the included foam stickers. Pretty cute! The kids wanted to play piano this evening, so we let them go for it. We still haven’t found...

Today was Brian’s 6-year checkup at the pediatrician. He’s doing great, not having visited the doctor a single time in the past year! He’s growing well and very healthy. Let’s hope he keeps it up! The appointment meant that he got to arrive at school late, so we learned the late dropoff procedure, and got to deliver Brian straight to the cafeteria for lunch. It was fun to see him in his natural habitat! 😉 He likes buying his lunch, I guess it makes him feel grown...
Read MoreElection Day!
It’s election day! Yes, a very minor one in the grand scheme of things, but a very important one to us. Root was renovated a few years ago, and the faculty are still talking about what a difference it has made for the kids. We didn’t end up sending Brian to Stough, but we have a lot of love for it, since it is our closest neighborhood school and...
Read MoreHalloween Decorations!
We sure do love Halloween around here! We’re going all out with decorations, and Brian and I have gone a little crazy making pumpkin decorations for the past couple days! I know that as crafts go, the foam sticker thing probably has very little artistic merit (sorry Mom!) But it’s a lot of fun, with a low time investment, little mess, and high reward! Here’s Brian showing off our windows, covered in pumpkins. He made one with a spider family, labeling the Mommy, Daddy,...
Read MoreInternational Festival!
Today we attending Raleigh’s own International Festival! This is one of my favorite fall events, though with how packed our fall schedule inevitably is, we don’t always make it out. This year, bringing two mobile children to a packed and noisy convention center presented a new set of challenges. All in all, though, we had a great time. We sampled foods from Nepal, Thailand, Japan, Poland, France, India, Vietnam, probably more. 🙂 We watched many different performances, and the...
