Star Tree Topper

Star Tree Topper

We’ve spent a few years keeping our eye out for a tree topper that we can stand.. (A lot harder than you’d think!)  Nothing has ever seemed right, so we’ve just gone without.  But this year, Brian was asking repeatedly, why don’t we have a star on top?  A gold star!  So, we decided to take up a quest to find a tree topper.  The stores were disappointing, as usual, but for better or worse, my eBay skills are strong. 😉  We looked at a few potential toppers and eventually picked one that was gold and glittery, with a scroll pattern, and LED lights.  It arrived today and Brian was so happy!  He said it was just perfect, and Brandon put it up on the tree.  A few other holiday surprises arrived this year for our tree, some Hello Kitty lights for Kendall, some Doctor Who lights for Brandon, and some Mameshiba keychains that we repurposed as ornaments.  The kids are totally obsessed with this Mameshiba Christmas video!  Also, pictures with Kendall from this morning, and Brian’s latest opus, The Book of Fun.  He made this picture book totally out of construction paper cutouts–it’s not quite finished, he says, but he’s very proud of it. 🙂

(edit: the kids are still singing this, in March!)

There was a wonderful episode of Little House on the Prairie in which the littlest sister wanted a star on the Christmas Tree and saved her pennies to buy one. I watched a little of your video and it looked very educational and fun.

I forgot to mention how pretty the star was on top of the tree plus all the other nice decorations and lights.
