Kendall is three weeks old! I can’t believe how the time is just flying by. Here are some interesting things about Kendall that I want to remember.
- Kendall was born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice, plus, the cord also had a true knot in it! The delivery room staff was amazed. They said you sometimes see one or the other, but to have both a knot and two loops is very rare! I’m so glad we elected to have a Cesarean delivery. If we hadn’t, it could have turned into a real emergency! The staff all said how lucky we were.
- Speaking of her cord, you know how they say that the umbilical cord is baby’s first toy? Well, we think that was true for Kendall. When she was lifted out, she was gripping onto her cord so tight, and didn’t want to let go! The staff all had a good laugh about it. Ever since birth, Kendall has used her long fingers to explore and grip onto everything!
- Kendall has a small dimple on the right side of her face, just like Brian. You can see it when she’s drinking, or smiling (still just in her sleep for now!) Unlike Brian, she also has a smaller dimple below the first one, on her chin.
She’s so precious and sweet! She looks a lot like Brian. I’m so glad everything went well with the delivery in spite of the rare cord issues! How sweet that she was holding on so tight and was born knowing how to grip and explore with her little hand!! 🙂
