The KinderGarden Groundbreaking

Today was a special day at Brian’s school!  The official groundbreaking ceremony of the new KinderGarden, a new five-senses garden that will be planted outside the Kindergarten/First Grade wing at Root Elementary.  The students performed a cute poem called “A Little Brown Seed” and also sang “What A Wonderful World.”  Brian had been practicing it all week!  We made sure he knew both the Louis Armstrong and the Joey Ramone versions of the song. 😉  After the speeches and presentation of the check, we got to have a picnic lunch with Brian outside.  Also included, pictures of Kendall being adorable on the way to school this morning, and us visiting Dos Taquitos for dinner!  The kids love the little train that runs around the restaurant on tracks high up by the ceiling, and of course all the decorations (every square inch of this place is tricked out to the nines!)  The kids were so good, we got an ice cream treat for dessert, and we ate it all up!  Here’s Brian finishing up the very last drop. 🙂

In the Colorado Springs’ city garden there is a section called a sensory garden. The restaurant is like Ella’s Deli in Madison, animated with a train running around the ceiling of the dining room.
