Brian starts his new Ancient Adventures camp at the NC Museum of Art today! He seems excited, and I know we are already loving the convenience of the location, and the full day schedule! Grandmother has been on my mind since her passing, and even though it’s not Christmas (or even Christmas in July!) today I took out and looked at the ornaments she sent me when I got married. One precious walnut basket that Granddaddy made, and a beautiful double-ring crocheted ornament she made for us. Back when we first got married, we didn’t have the space for a Christmas tree indoors, and instead just put lights on a nicely shaped holly tree we had outside. Even though we do put up a tree now, these ornaments, which meant so much to me, had stayed safely stowed inside my “treasure box” for the past 12 years, preserved like relics. Well, now I’m thinking that things made with love should be used and appreciated, and I’ll be sure to put these on the tree this year.
