Tonight was Brian’s fall semester book fair! It had a cool knights-and-dragons theme. We picked up everything on his list, plus a few things for Kendall as well. He liked the big standup sign advertising the new Star Wars Rebels series. Not a lot of photos, since I was carrying all of his stuff! Today all the geeky-Internet-buzz was about a Barbie children’s book, where supposedly Barbie was a computer engineer–but she was portrayed as thoroughly incompetent, needing the boys to get her out of a jam. Well, some folks wrote their own more positive version of the book, and it made quite the digital splash today. In any case, I was just glad they made a computer engineer Barbie, and I bought one back in 2011 when they came out. 😉 Notice the sensible shoes, and Tux penguin (Linux mascot) on her shelf.

I am sure Barbie’s clothes have to be flashy but I cannot see a woman computer engineer wearing that outfit.
