Vegas Trip 3

Third verse, same as the first!  Another day of conference fun.  Today there was a Women in Tech luncheon, and I laughed at the place settings when I sat down–salad and chocolate, for the ladies.  So typical it could’ve come right out of Getty Images or something.  😉  Luckily real food was forthcoming.  We were annoyed this morning, as breakfast was much later than advertised–so there were 4,000 hungry attendees milling around while we waited for the food to be ready!  Not cool.  We walked around the MGM some, and at the gift shop (that was a candy store last year) I saw the same jelly bean dispenser that the kids asked for at JCP on picture day.  I also saw these adorable emoji pillows–I’d love to get a couple but they won’t fit in my luggage.  Ideas for later, though.  🙂  We walked around a bit tonight, checking out the fall display at the Bellagio, and had dinner at Shibuya, a very good Japanese restaurant inside the MGM.  The “party” we were invited to this evening was a total bust–no real food, and nothing but tortilla chip dust left by the time we got out of our meetings.  We couldn’t even manage to get the bartender’s attention, so we bailed, deciding to pay for our own dinner.  Shibuya was a much better scene, relaxed and stylish, with excellent food and drinks!  Pricey, sure, but actually worth every inflated cent.  Absolutely delicious–foie gras in the gyoza?!  Un.Real.  Plus, I have a new favorite drink that I will probably never be able to replicate–the Yamamomo Collins.  Made with the juice of the rare mountain peach (hard to describe, the yamamomo was sort of between a lychee and a strawberry?) and Bombay Sapphire East (what?!  they make an East version?!  I have to see if I can get this at home.)
