An Odd Saturday

Usually I have a pile of photos from just about every Saturday, but today was..  Different?  Difficult?  Hard to describe, really, but it started off with Brian having a really terrible time at swimming lessons.  He was inconsolable the whole time, and nothing seemed to calm him down.  I don’t have any pictures of Brian at home, but I do have a couple of his artwork–a penguin he had made at school, and a really involved picture with a lot of Star Wars action in there!  I think I can spot General Grievous with four lightsabers in there.

Later, we all went to a birthday party for one of Brian’s classmates.  I put Kendall in a cute dress and tights (which she hated!  She even tried to remove them with her teeth!  They weren’t as easy to remove as socks.)  I was hoping to have a lot of great photo ops of the two of them at the party, but, it was not to be.  Brian had further meltdowns the whole time we stayed at the party (which wasn’t very long, I don’t suppose, but it certainly felt like it.)  When we got home, I suggested Brian take a nap, and he did..  However, when he woke up, he had a high fever.  After a visit to the Urgent Care, we discovered Brian has strep throat.  Poor kiddo, no wonder he had such a rough day.  Since he wasn’t up to attending the hockey game, we asked our friend Jennie if she was free, and I ended up with a rare girls’ night out!  Brandon volunteered to take care of the kids so I could go.  He’s just the best, isn’t he?  🙂  I had a good time with Jennie, and the ‘Canes really delivered, scoring five goals to win the game!

Great that you got a “girls night out!” I’m sorry Brian had strep – poor little guy. I’m glad he’s better now! 🙂

You deserved a break. Strep A is a nasty bacteria.
