Column Creativity

The kids really love their Duplos, as you all know.  The house is overflowing with them, so you’d think there’d be plenty to go around, but sometimes the kids both want to play with something specific.  Today’s favorite type of brick was the column–we nearly had a major battle on our hands over who would gain ultimate control over these rare items!  Nobody was happy with having only half the columns at a time.  Eventually, we were able to make this epic contest of wills into a “teachable moment” and everyone had a turn building with the columns.  Brian made a bug-type spaceship, while Kendall made lightsabers!  We had a good time laughing about that, saying: “I see you have constructed a new lightsaber. Your skills are complete.”  In our best Darth Vader voices, of course! 🙂
