Monday
Happy Monday, y’all! 😉 Yeah, I grumble about Mondays, too, but I don’t mind taking Kendall to school by myself while Brian is at OT. She was so cute drinking her milk today. Tonight, Brian made much of using his “computer”–the paper one he had made for me much earlier this year! I laminated it, I thought it was so cute. 🙂 Less cute was him insisting he couldn’t take his bath tonight because he had to do his...

Today we had a fun Sunday at home! Brian built this wooden pirate ship, from a kit he’d gotten from Lowes. He decorated it a lot more (with colorful electrical tape!) after these photos were taken. Some neighborhood kids came by, and OMG, do they lack boundaries, impulse control, and any sort of parental supervision. After only a few interactions, we’re now super wary of these kids, who will just walk up into the garage and start messing with stuff, and are constantly banging...

Today was another super-packed Saturday! We started off the morning with a Build and Grow session for Brian, where he made a cool fire truck. But not for too long, because we had a party to get to! Our cousin Ava’s 4th birthday party was today, and we knew it was going to be a Frozen party with a special guest! It...
Read MoreRocks!
After the van got broken into, Brian expressed some interest in rocks–spurred on by questions about the type of rock that was used to smash the window, I guess. 🙂 When I saw this rock set in the Scholastic catalog, I thought it would be a fun way for him to explore a bit about geology. As it turned out, both kids really liked the rock kit, especially the tiny little magnifying...

Occasionally, we really do have to pick up the house, and as much as it pains Brian to have to take down his battles, it must be done. Today we had the cleaners coming by, and Brian made all of these signs and caution-tape-like signs around a battle he was particularly proud of. I took these pictures before having to pick it up, and despite his protests in the morning, he wasn’t upset at all this afternoon that it was picked up. Also included, a train layout that we also had to pick...
