Brian’s Cool Cat
Today Brian drew a picture of a “cool cat”–cool, because he’s wearing sunglasses. Brian even labeled it, writing the words by himself! He explained the arrow by saying he wanted everyone to know it’s the cat that is cool. 😉 Brian makes cool artwork almost every single day, but this cat today just tickled...
Read MoreBananaphone!
Today we had a good laugh about the kids playing “banana phone!” They were just talking and talking on their bananas, which was funny enough as it was, but Brandon and I laughed even harder because of the Banana Phone song by Raffi. It had been featured in something of an early Internet meme some years ago, in a rather crude flash animated short. It is legitimately a children’s song, but our kids don’t really know it, which made it all the funnier that they came up...
Read MoreDouble Dentist Visit
Today was Kendall’s first dentist visit! Lucky for us, we were able to book them both on the same day and time–I think having her brother along with her helped Kendall have a great experience! I know they both loved the big play “jeep” that was out the lobby! Afterward, we dropped the kids off at school, and Kendall was very happy to arrive in time for paint! She started painting with gusto–I had to get a few pictures. Next up, we dropped Brian off at school,...
Read MoreSunday Morning Adventures
It seems the kids had quite a morning before Brandon and I stirred this morning! In fact, it seemed like they were both ready to set out on an adventure. Brian had created a license plate for his red car (presumably to make it street legal?) with this full name and some identifying pictures.. Plus, some “planets”–glow in the dark stickers he’d colored in to represent them! When I found Kendall, she had her backpack on and her her guitar in her hand. Not sure what...
Read MoreDairy Farm
Today we made the trip out to Chapel Hill Creamery once more for their family day! The kids really enjoyed the hay ride and seeing all the cows. There was a newborn calf, only one day old! There was a neat writing spider with a cool web–reminded me of Charlotte’s Web. Mental note, be sure to share that book with the kids once they have slightly longer attention spans! Brian enjoyed meeting a friendly barnyard cat, sampling fresh cheese, and watching a young cheesemaker...
Read MoreFriday Night
Another split-duty Friday night! The boys went to the hockey game, and I spent the evening with Kendall. She was so ready to go home this afternoon, putting on her raincoat without complaint and heading straight to the door! She even got a little concerned when I brought out the phone instead of opening the door immediately....
