After School
We picked up Brian from Lego Camp today and he was excited to show us the taco he’d made from a paper plate and construction paper! He loves the Benny poster in the camp room (he has one of his own, but we haven’t put it up in his room yet!) Brian had skating lessons this afternoon, so Kendall and I had some girl time! She was happy to see me when I picked her up, and showed me her Lego creation! I was amazed at the group of 2-year-olds sitting and playing so nicely with their...
Read MoreBathtime Dragon Fun
The kids love their bathtub dragons and Berk island playset! Brian quotes the movie a lot, and Kendall makes up her own stories....
Read MoreSunday Dinner Visit
Today we had grand plans to visit Steve and Sue around midday, but the kids were, let’s just say, unsuitable for public consumption in the afternoon. Naps were an absolute must. Not sure what was up with them, it was a pretty calm morning as things go, just breakfast, some crafts, feeding the hummingbirds, finishing up the Jedi Starfighter models.. Brandon was hard at work on glass shard abatement in the van until around 5pm. But, we did make it out to have a nice pizza dinner with...
Read MoreReading Class
This morning, Brian had another reading class at NC State! He’s really doing quite well with his reading. I’m sure he’ll be in a great spot to start first grade. Today, during the break, he made a fold-up book for Kendall, all about teaching her about colors. What a thoughtful big brother! Back at home, we played with toys, and started building two new Star Wars models, the Clone Wars-era Jedi Starfighters belonging to Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Brian has some amount of...
Read MoreViking Helmets, Hockey Camp roundup!
Today was Brian’s last day at Hockey Camp (well, hockey week at the Cool Ventures camp at the IcePlex!) He received a cool hockey medal that he was very proud of. 🙂 Not to be outdone, Kendall wore the pirate eye patch he brought home in a prize bag. Both kids were excited by the arrival of a pair of plastic viking helmets! I’d ordered these to go with Brian’s Halloween costume, but didn’t know what style or size they’d really be, or if they’d be...
Read MoreCool Ventures
Brian is having a good time at his Cool Ventures hockey camp this week! (Despite the drama of the van getting broken into…) I think this one is probably the most playtime-filled camp he’s been to so far, but maybe it’s good for him to have a week where he can just take it easy, play hockey, watch movies, do easy crafts, and play video games with the other kids. Also included, photos of Kendall celebrating as she receives some additional water-squirting dragon friends for...
