Rainy Tuesday
Today was a really rainy Tuesday afternoon, but the kids made up for it with their bright smiles! Kendall was a cutie playing in her Krispy Kreme hat, and Brian was so excited to get a boxed set of the How to Train Your Dragon books! The whole day wasn’t a washout, though, as Grandma Sue sent us this photo of Brian swimming like a fish this...

Today Brian starts his Rocketry Camp at Wakefield! Huge, gigantic thanks to Grandma Sue and Grandpa Steve for the hookup on getting Brian into this camp–we couldn’t have done it without them (and their membership)! Even more thanks to Steve and Sue for meeting us at Goddard to pick up Brian each morning this week–that really saves us a ton of commuting time! And one more thank you to Grandma Sue for sending this photo of Brian at camp. 🙂 The report so far is that Brian is...
Read MoreScanning Day
After Grandmother’s funeral, Mandy and I were talking about how sad it’d be if all the family photos got divided up, when we could use technology to share them with everyone. I offered to scan the whole collection, and Mandy said she’d help, too! Everyone agreed to our plan, and held off on dividing up the photos for awhile. Today was our first scanning day, and while it was a lot of work, it was very rewarding. 🙂 I’ll post the results on a family Flickr group so...

This morning, the kids both went to the Lowes Build and Grow session, and made a cool Turbo pull-back toy! This afternoon, after playing downstairs for awhile (with the kids abusing Brandon by riding him like a horse!) we decided to make use of the canopy we’d bought on the way back from the beach and Brandon’s new grill, and have a cookout. It’s a...

Today was Grandmother’s funeral, and while it was a very sad day for everyone, we did manage to find some joyful moments, thanks to the children. Kendall wore a pink dress, which probably seemed incongruous to many, but the color, satin trim, and pearl accents reminded me of what Grandmother was wearing. I think she would have liked it. An unexpected blessing today is that Brian and Kendall got to know some of their cousins. They really hit it off with Ava, Ashton, Brady, and Sophia,...
Read MoreBeach Trip, day 5
Today, our summer beach trip drew to a close, and that meant we spent the morning doing a couple more art projects, and trying one of the activities in the Candy Experiments book that Grandma Sue got for the kids. We observed what happens when Skittles are left in water (their letter S’es really do float right off, and their colors sink to the bottom! While Brandon did the majority of the packing, I helped both kids complete their Melissa & Doug sticker art projects, which are very...
