Father’s Day
Happy Father’s Day! Our first (and probably best) present for Brandon was to let him sleep in today. I bought him some time by keeping the kids busy making a pancake breakfast. They helped me decorate the pancakes with Hello Kitty stamps, using chocolate and strawberry syrup, and with Star Wars stencils, using powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Regular readers of our family expeditions know that we have been making yearly treks to spend a day out with Thomas since Brian was first able to watch the show. This year is no different, and this is the biannual trip to see him at Tweetsie Railroad, in Blowing Rock, instead of the NC Transportation Museum, in Spencer. Today we are starting our summer vacation in earnest! Brian had a birthday party for his friend Hudson at United Skates of America this afternoon, and following that, we started our trek out to the mountains for Day Out with Thomas at Tweetsie Railroad tomorrow.
