School After School
Sometimes Brian insists upon going inside Goddard School, if we end up picking him up first! Today was one of those days, but for a special reason–a Goddard school Thanksgiving party! We had a nice meal with some of the other families, and Brian was very happy to play with some of his old favorites! Tinker toys never get old, do...
Read MoreSunday Evening Legos
The kids were cute tonight, playing Legos together! Kendall was very proud of her tall tower, and Brian cheered her on and helped. I’m working on a felt food project for the kids–I think they’ll enjoy some pretend pasta to...
Read MoreChristmas Books
Brandon surprised the kids tonight with a gift to start getting into the holiday spirit–two new Christmas books! One is a Curious George book, and the other is a Scanimation Santa book. Brandon was thinking of the George book for Kendall, and Santa for Brian, but, they liked each other’s so much, I think they might have traded! 😉 No problem, though–of course we’ll read both books to both...
Read MoreCake Pops!
It was a teacher workday today, and I was happy to take the day off and stay home with Brian! Brandon knew I’d be home with him, so he took Kendall in the morning. They left us a little surprise made from blocks in the bathroom to find! I laughed and laughed, such a cute display. Brian and I had a good time together, playing and doing arts and crafts, and he even helped me assemble the goody bags for Kendall’s party. He made a paper spaceship (of course), and made a rather...
Read MoreRen Faire!
Today we were off to the Renaissance Faire with the Orazis! It’s a bit of a drive to get out there, about three hours–but it’s worth it! When we arrived, everyone was feeling a little hungry, so we powered off to the furthest end of the park for some lunch. Brandon was feeling like bratwurst, and to our surprise, Kendall seemed to like it, too! Even with the sauerkraut and spicy mustard. After lunch, we took in some shows, including some fire-eating “pirates”...
Read MoreBananaphone!
Today we had a good laugh about the kids playing “banana phone!” They were just talking and talking on their bananas, which was funny enough as it was, but Brandon and I laughed even harder because of the Banana Phone song by Raffi. It had been featured in something of an early Internet meme some years ago, in a rather crude flash animated short. It is legitimately a children’s song, but our kids don’t really know it, which made it all the funnier that they came up...
