Pumpkin Lights!
Today we put up our pumpkin lights! That’s always fun and helps us get into the Halloween spirit. Hopefully it doesn’t annoy the neighbors too much. We also made some more indoor Halloween decorations, this time a sparkly bat, a pumpkin owl, and a Halloween tree! Today was one of those rare Saturdays where we didn’t have too many things to do–only three things on the calendar! Brian had swimming, followed by Lowe’s Build and Grow (he made a Halloween-themed Candy Stacker game). Then, skating in the afternoon, and a visit to the library. Tonight was a pretty special Friday night for everyone! We started off with Brandon picking up the kids and bringing them to meet me at Red Hat Tower. They were so cute when I found them playing in the lobby, both in their hockey t-shirts! Best sight in the world, after a tough day at the office. Today was a rainy day, but Kendall brightened it up with her sunny smile (and her Lego flashlight guy!) Brian was excited to have a Hurricanes hockey clinic during PE, and got this cool souvenir cup. Our Produce Box included a pair of decorate-your-pumpkin add-on kits for the kiddoes, so we let them decorate a couple small pumpkins this afternoon with the included foam stickers. Pretty cute! Today was Brian’s 6-year checkup at the pediatrician. He’s doing great, not having visited the doctor a single time in the past year! He’s growing well and very healthy. Let’s hope he keeps it up! The appointment meant that he got to arrive at school late, so we learned the late dropoff procedure, and got to deliver Brian straight to the cafeteria for lunch. It was fun to see him in his natural habitat! 😉 He likes buying his lunch, I guess it makes him feel grown...

It’s election day! Yes, a very minor one in the grand scheme of things, but a very important one to us. There’s a bond referendum for funding renovations and expansions of schools in Wake County, and we know how important that is! Root was renovated a few years ago, and the faculty are still talking about what a difference it has made for the kids.
