Lego Kids Club
Now that Brian is six years old, that opens up the possibility of attending Lego Kids Club meetings! Of course we had to sign him up for the very first one after his birthday. Today was his first meeting, right after swim lessons, and he had a great time. He got to build a cool aircraft, got a t-shirt, and an exclusive mini Coast Guard plane! This was pretty special for Brian, because of how much he loves his full-size Coast Guard plane! Because swimming and the Lego Club meeting were so...

Today we were happy to unveil a project we’d been working on for Brian–this Lego table! I’d had this crazy idea, wouldn’t be cool if, we could make an interchangeable tabletop for the train table, that was entirely covered in Lego baseplates. Brandon took that idea and ran with it, discovering that standard whiteboards are the exact same size as the train table top, and figuring out exactly how many baseplates it would take. We collaborated with Brian to come up with...

Brian was super happy this morning to discover more treasure! This time he received a Kennedy 50-cent piece and a golden Sacajawea dollar. He was pretty impressed! I have it on good authority that the Tooth Fairy will be going international next time. 😉 Our chalk birthday decorations are fading, but now it’s time to get ready for Halloween! And also a random duck–because Kendall...

Not even two weeks after the first one, Brian lost his second tooth today! Now he’s missing both of his top front teeth. Poor kid, I’m sure he’s going to be in for a ton of “All I Want For Christmas” jokes. 😉 So that he’ll know what it’s about, I showed him a few videos on YouTube of the song. This one didn’t come out quite as easily as the first, but he was really ready for it to go, saying “Look, Mom, I can spin it all the way...

Today, Kendall got to come along to Lowe’s Build and Grow–I think she was a little jealous that she doesn’t get to build her own things yet! Also, the kids felt like launching rockets–Kendall wanted to do the water rockets (but we weren’t up for it today, plus, they don’t work all that well..) So, the venerable stomp rocket it was! They do love that...
