Today we were off to celebrate a Day Out with Thomas, in Spencer, NC. Brian informed us that he isn’t really into Thomas anymore (this kid is too big for his britches, now that he’s a big kindergartener!) We told him that we were going for Kendall, and he could just come along and support her. Well, once we arrived, Thomas fever took hold, and Brian was having a great time, singing along with all the Thomas songs, taking part in his favorite activities, just like he had in years before! Kendall was quite enthusiastic about everything, and got into the spirit by wearing Brian’s old engineer’s hat! Brian begged for sno-cones, and we relented–a Tiger’s Blood (sounds awful, but it’s really coconut-cherry–okay, it still sounds pretty weird! for him, and Orange-Pineapple for Kendall (now that’s a flavor I’m happy to share!) Brian’s tongue became a spectacular crimson red, which he was rather proud of–thankfully Kendall’s wasn’t quite so colorful. 😉 We enjoyed our train ride and all the other attractions at the transportation museum, and Kendall made it much longer than we expected! Eventually, she was turning into a pumpkin and we had to call it a day. We all had a really great time, even our super big kid who started out being too cool for school! 😉
