Pool Party, Kite Flying, and Bollywood!

Must be a summer Saturday at our house. 😉  Whew, it was another packed day full of fun.  First off, Brian went to Lowe’s Build and Grow and made a cool El Macho plane, from the upcoming movie Planes.  You can see he went in his swim gear, because right after that, it was off to Tyler B’s birthday party.  It was a superhero theme this time, and Brian got to make a cool mask, and got a Batman towel/cape to keep!  I stayed home with Kendall, and we had a nice time relaxing and playing.  Kendall got dressed up with her fancy hat on and rode her lion up and down the hall.  Once the boys were home, we could tell the kids were pretty stir crazy, so we decided to go kite flying at the art museum park.  It was one of those rare windy days, and the kites were soon flying great!  The boys went first, while Kendall and I sat inside one of the structures.  We had a brief snack–some macaroons from Trader Joe’s!  Oh, they are really tasty and too convenient. 😉  Soon, Kendall just had to join the boys, so we went out to join them.  She made me laugh, walking with this really purposeful stride!  Everyone was able to fly a kite for awhile, even Kendall.  She mostly dragged hers around, though. 😉  After awhile, Kendall was getting tired, so we strolled on, leaving a different way than we’d come.  Brandon walked with Brian as he rode his bike around the pond, and Kendall and I strolled around the other side.  Then, as we were leaving, we heard a band doing a sound check for a concert that was going to happen this evening.  I think they were a bluegrass band.  Anyway, we stopped to listen for just a bit, since Brian was interested–but soon enough, we got shuffled on out of the park by security staff.  Oh well.  After that, we were all very hot, hungry, and thirsty, so we went to Neomonde for lunch.  That’s always a treat!  Back at home, I realized I had way too much zucchini (happens during the summer) so, I made a few loaves of zucchini bread, and Brian helped.  When he wasn’t working on a pretty sweet Duplo car wash, that is. 😉  Brian had been curious about some music we’d heard earlier, so we put on a DVD of some Bollywood music, all sung by Asha Bhosle, but clips from many different movies.  I wondered if he’d like it, and just when I thought he wasn’t paying attention, he started doing some of the most amazing dance moves I’ve ever seen him do–and that’s really saying something! 😀  He kept it up for pretty much the whole song, even with a pretty rough case of hiccups–and it’s a long one!  Check out the clips below.

If you’d like to see the full clip that he’s watching and have your own dance party, I’ll link to it below! 😀  C’mon, just try to resist that beat!
