Tree Decorating!

We finished up our Thanksgiving break today by being very industrious, even though we stayed in our PJs past noon!  We managed to get the tree decorated fully, with the train underneath and all.  Brian loves these Mameshiba characters so much right now, he made his own Mameshiba ornament!  He drew a very nice edamame. 🙂  I got the motivation to do a bit of cooking, and made a lovely homemade chicken soup, totally from scratch, including a whole chicken. At the same time, I made a big crock pot full of beef stew.  We’ll be set for a few meals this week, plus some to set by in the freezer.  I used these tiny star-shaped pasta called stelline in the chicken soup–I showed them to Kendall (who was watching me as I cooked) and she wanted to touch them.  I put a few on the table, and to my surprise, she ate them up, uncooked and all!  Silly girl.  She did like them better in the soup, I think!

Alison, your stew and soup look hearty and healthy. We like the Christmas tree and Brian’s homemade ornament.
