Brian’s First School Musical: Seussical!

Tonight was Brian’s first musical performance at school!  The kindergarten and first grade students presented Seussical the Musical (program, PDF) this evening!  Brian had been practicing the songs for months, with us hearing him singing in the bathroom, the bathtub, while he was getting dressed..  If we asked, he would laugh and say “nothing!”  He wanted it all to be a surprise.  The kids did an amazing job with their performance, remembering so many songs, and the moves to go with them!  I’ve never seen such a crowded multipurpose room (and that’s saying something–this far into the year at Root, I’ve seen some seriously overcrowded school events!)  There were so many parents crowding in there, it was standing room only, even though we arrived on the early side!  Kendall was so wiggly, and the room was stifling hot and shoulder-to-shoulder with all the folks pressing in..  But it was worth it to see our little guy perform so well.  The teachers ran thing so efficiently, we didn’t even get a good picture of Brian with his Cat in the Hat style bowtie and gloves–but you can see him just glowing with pride after the show!  He wanted to celebrate with dinner at Chick-Fil-A and we thought that was a fine idea.  There was a fundraiser happening, and we let Brian spin the prize wheel for $1.  He won a little stuffed cow, and thought that was pretty awesome!

The photos were good but the video really brought the Seuss musical to life. I could see Brian in the back row.
