Outdoor Christmas Fun

Today was surprisingly warm–it’s almost like the kids knew it would be so, starting off the day playing with Brian’s sunglasses from the Hurricanes Kids Club!  During Kendall’s nap, Brian (still in his pajamas) built two holiday-themed Lowes Build and Grow kits–this year’s candy cane train, and the gingerbread house that I’d bought him last year.  He said he was making them for Kendall–what a sweet big brother!  We hung Brian’s handmade ornaments from school on the tree.  They seem so fragile!  We’ll do our best to preserve them.  🙂  We eventually prevailed upon Brian to get dressed, and he came downstairs looking at least partially festive, and quite proud of himself!  The PVC marshmallow blow gun was courtesy of Steve and Sue’s neighbor, who Brian met while helping Sue with the luminaries yesterday.  If only we had known how much a few bits of PVC would just fascinate both kids to no end, we could have saved a whole lot on presents! 😉  We took a walk to Rite Aid and found these mug+hot cocoa sets–we just had to pick them up!  They’ll be perfect for Christmas morning.  Brian approved of the brave little dandelion we saw along the way.  When Kendall was awake, we played outside some more, having lots of chalk fun on the driveway until it started getting dark.  It was extra fun for the kids when the lights came on!  They had their own sort of dance party with the flashing rainbow lights. 🙂

This has started me to plan for decorating for Christmas this year. I like the walkway lights and the chalk gingerbread couple.
