Roger’s Visit! Day 5

Today we continued the museum visiting and hit up Marbles!  Before that, though, the kids spent the morning playing with more of their new toys..  They put together the giant hockey floor puzzle, and Brian did some wacky dancing, pretending he was the alien riding in the spaceship on his pajamas.  We did eventually manage to get everyone ready and out the door, and we had quite the time at Marbles.  The kids both loved the hockey, oversized Connect Four, and giant building blocks, and Kendall loved the basketball as usual.  She liked the toy fish in the 2nd floor pet care area, and made a great game of putting all of the fish inside the doghouse.  It made sense to her..!  😉  She very purposely took the cats for a drag–er, I mean walk, and was so serious about this running back and forth with them, that a crowd of other parents were all chuckling about it.  Brian was pretty serious about his pizza making and delivering.  We saw a cool market stand in the gift shop, and even though it’s a little too pricey for us (especially right after the holidays!) it gave Brandon an idea for making a market stand for the kids.  (Update, 8/30/14:  It’s not on the kids’ Amazon wish list, since third-party sellers are inflating the price, but the market stand we liked is on a super sale at this site right now!  Brandon’s creation got into a fight with a can of stain, and is in pieces at the moment, until we can figure out if it can be redeemed..  Anyhoo, hint, hint, Santa’s helpers.) 😉

We had lunch at Pogo, the cafe at Marbles, and were quite pleased with the food.  Kendall was most especially pleased with her cookie!  We took Roger over to Red Hat Tower for a tour before heading home for Kendall’s nap.  He saw both of our desks, took in some of the construction happening on the next block, and the kids were happy to get a free snack in the break room.  Back at home, the boys played soccer a little while Kendall slept.  After dinner, Kendall took her bath and got to use her new Hello Kitty hooded towel.  Brandon had gotten Brian some actual hockey gear, in addition to the toy goalie gear he got from Santa.  He was checking it out when Kendall noticed, and she just had to get in on that action. 😉
