This morning, Grandpa Roger headed home–we hope he enjoyed his visit as much as we enjoyed having him! 🙂 We took it somewhat easy today, and played at home some, and took the kids over to Root to ride their plasma cars around the track. This was a super fun, yet exceedingly noisy, activity for them! We let them get out as much energy as they could there. Back at home, we worked on some Lego projects with Brian while Kendall was sleeping. He was super excited to build his Lego Coast Guard ship! He was even more excited to see that the box said “boat really floats!” (thanks to the molded plastic outer hull) and he really wants to try it out, despite Brandon’s hesitation. 😉 We’ll see about that. We made a party tray of finger foods for our dinner, and had our own little celebration. Kendall couldn’t stay up too late, but Brian said he could! We let him stay up, and we watched the hockey game together. The ‘Canes managed an overtime win which was pretty exciting. Brian did make it to midnight, and although he was a little confused about why balls and acorns get dropped at midnight (honestly, we didn’t have a great answer, either!) he had a good time, ringing in the new year with some sparkling grape juice.

Grandpa and Grandma stay home on New Year’s Eve and enjoy finer foods. Once Grandma went to New York City on New Year’s Eve and went to the David Letterman Show (Bon Jovi was the musical guest) and was in Times Square for the festivities. David Letterman tapes at 5 PM.
