This morning on the way to school, Brian started to cry softly out of nowhere–we asked what the matter was, and he said it was Mrs. Boswell’s 40th birthday, and he’d forgotten to make her a card! Poor kiddo. We tried our best to scrape some supplies together with what we had in the car–a sheet of paper from a Red Hat pad, some pens, a highlighter, and some stickers from Brian’s workbook did the trick! He was able to make this card for her on the drive from Goddard School to Root. Great job, kiddo! 😉 After school, the kids were surprised to receive some belated Christmas presents from Nico and Logan! Brian absolutely loved his Star Wars Science of Optics book (with mini lightsabers, various color filters, and an assortment of lenses). Kendall really liked her Ladybug Girl book and the doll it came with, too! I thought it was such a sweet story, and really enjoyed reading it with her. But, for bedtime, Kendall is still all about her new Boba Fett and Mameshiba! While Kendall was getting a head start on her bath, Brian and I tried out my snowflake punches and made some cool (ha!) winter-themed art. He already loves to cut and paste, and the punches made it extra fun for him!

Grandma Cheryl likes ladybugs, too. There are lots of ladybugs in our garden this year living on Grandpa Roger’s potato plants and Grandma’s cauliflower leaves. Brian, that was a beautiful handmade birthday card you made for your teacher.
