The snow day train just keeps rolling! It’s nasty out there. This round of snow arrived so hard and fast, that everyone who waited to leave work until the snow actually started yesterday got stuck in traffic for hours. The resulting snarls backed up major roads for 5 hours or more, and emergency vehicles even had trouble getting to all the beached cars and accidents. Photos of the traffic jam and even a car fire on Glenwood Avenue (not that far from where we live!) even made the national media (yes, with lots of smug northerners feeling quite superior about their ability to handle snow.. Although, transplants quickly learn that their snow skills don’t translate here–nobody wins against the ice that we get.) It even became sort of an Internet meme, with folks photoshopping in various movie characters and even our local weatherman as a villain. Our favorites were the Star Wars ones, of course. 😉 That Fred’s Beds box truck got so much airtime, I hope it helped offset any losses they had this week. We were back to shift-watching the kids while trying to work today, which is always tough. The kids played with toys a lot, Brian made a torch out of some toy parts, and Kendall got her wish of us building the Lego Valentine Bear. 🙂

That fiery accident was scary as were the photoshopped photos especially the weatherman with a blow torch.
The cut-out snowflakes are pretty in the window.
