Valentine Party, Rescheduled

Today was Brian’s classroom Valentine party, rescheduled due to the snow last week.  I’d signed up to volunteer and read a book, way back in August–very glad I had lots of reminders!  I asked Brian which Valentine book he wanted me to bring, and he couldn’t decide between his Curious George and Splat the Cat Valentine books, so, I brought both. 🙂  I think it worked out well for me to read both, it gave the other moms plenty of time to get snacks prepared and such!  After story time, the kids got their snacks–the party mix looked really good, made with lots of pink and red treats (strawberry mini wheats, pink sugar wafers, M&Ms, etc.)  The really popular treat was the heart-shaped Jell-O jigglers!  Most of the kids wanted more than one. 🙂  Brian wasn’t sure about it at first, but then he seemed to enjoy it, and asked if we could make them, too!  Then the kids got their Valentine boxes, which they’d decorated earlier in the week.  Now they were filled with cards and treats!  They had so many, each kid had to get a separate gallon Ziplock bag to hold all the Valentines that wouldn’t fit in their boxes. 🙂  As usual, whenever we visit the classroom, I try to snag pictures of Brian’s art.  I like that he’s still wearing his “Canes Shirt” even when he’s 100 years old!  The adjectives that his friends use to describe him are pretty apt, don’t you think? 🙂  After school, I said he could pick one treat from his box, and he chose the Minion Twinkie–what a cute idea!

  1. Grandma Cheryl and Grandpa Roger

Grandma Cheryl likes the adjectives used to describe you, Brian. You have nice green eyes like Grandpa Roger and of course you are a “brain” like him.
