Today we decided to have an outing to the aquarium with the kids! Brian passed on going last time, but he felt like attending this time. I think he was glad he decided to come! It was a lovely day, and there was so much to see and do at the aquarium. The kids liked the fountain out front, and the big tanks, of course. The otters were being pretty active, which is always a treat. We had a great time, got some Dairy Queen treats when we started to feel a bit peckish. That gave us the burst of energy we needed, and Brandon thought of taking us all out to Fort Macon to see what that was all about. We’d never been before, and it was interesting to see the old fort and a lot of the historical artifacts. We also enjoyed the visitor center and nature exhibits there. The kids particularly liked the bird calls! Brian and Kendall might not have gotten too much out of the history lesson, but Brian did ask some good questions, and we think it’s important to expose them to all sorts of places. Look forward to a lot more educational field trips, kids! 😀 Back at the house, we relaxed on the porch for a bit, and the kids played with their spoils, plundered from the gift shops.

We watched the video and it was like we were there. I liked the octopus. The coast of North Carolina is so beautiful.
