The long-awaited Boosterthon is here!! I volunteered and helped at the water station (along with about eight other moms)! There were so many parents in attendance, that there were an overabundance of us water folks, lap counters, and high-fivers! Brandon and Kendall were in attendance as well. We waited outside for the Kindergarten and first grade students to come out, and eventually they did, in a big Olympic-style parade! Each classroom had their own team name and banner made up for the event. Brian’s class got so excited to take the field, they ended up running one lap before they were supposed to start! I’m pretty sure Brian had nothing to do with instigating that. 😉 Soon, the fun run was under way, and the kids took their laps around and around the track. The tracks were shorter than usual, so the 35 lap maximum was fairly easy to achieve. Brian easily completed his 35, and I think he got in a few extra, even though he was supposed to stop! It was a lot of fun watching him accomplish his goal, and I was so proud to see him encouraging his friends to keep going, even though they were tired. I was happy to hand him water when he needed it, and Brandon and Kendall cheered him on as well. Afterward, we walked with Brian’s class back up the hill to their class, and were happy that his teacher let them pause for some fun group photos along the way! What a great day it was! Brian really appreciates all of your pledges–this event helps his school so much, and he got a ton of really cool prizes as well! He is so happy about his new headphones, and especially, the tent!! The Boosterthon theme this year is “Camp High Five” (we know it well, since Brian likes to sing the theme song so much!) so the tent goes along with the camping theme really well. 🙂
