Today we were off to Durham for more Easter-themed fun! The Museum of Life+Science has a Dino Egg Hunt annually, and we’d hoped to attend last year, but it didn’t work out. We did manage it this year, and the kids had a fantastic time! We visited some of their favorite things, like the boats, and the Soundspace 2 room, but the main attraction was the egg hunt! It was located in the woods adjacent to the dinosaur trail, in an area that isn’t usually open to the public. It was a really cool hunt, in that there wasn’t any waiting in line–you had to pre-purchase tickets for a particular slot, and during your time, you could hunt for eggs whenever. The staff kept the hunt area fully stocked at all times, which was no small feat! You were supposed to keep it to 12 eggs per child, but I’m not sure anyone actually adhered to that. 😉 The kids picked up some pretty unique eggs, which contained some interesting science-themed contents. Much cooler than the usual plastic-egg-filler suspects. 😉 There were some fun dinosaur-themed activities, and both kids enjoyed coloring, the dino toss, and Brian really got into a match the dinosaur with the skeleton game. Kendall particularly loved the inflatable dinosaurs, especially a blue one. She really did not want to leave it behind! Once we started feeling a little hungry and tired, we headed out and got some lunch at Arby’s. The kids got these red rubber wristbands as prizes in their kids’ meals, and for some reason, were quite taken with them. After that, we packed them back up and drove out to Rosemary’s for a visit. We hoped the kids would rest some on the way, but we weren’t that lucky! When we got there, Brian wanted to play Easter Bunny, just like he has in years past. He took turns hiding and finding eggs with us, and Kendall participated, too! The kids could play this game all day. 🙂 Rosemary showed the kids how to make “snow” fall from the snowdrop bushes–Brian and Kendall both loved that! The kids both tried out their hand and footprints against some of mine from back in the day. 😉

Hunting for dinosaur eggs in a Jurrasic- like park looks like a lot of fun.
