Today, Brandon and the kids let me sleep in! They headed out early to go to Lowe’s Build and Grow, where Brian and Kendall worked together to build a cute flower delivery van! They also bought me a lovely lily plant. It looks like they had a great time building together! When they came home, I was presented with beautiful bouquet of flowers, a fancy coffee from Caribou, and a huge spread of Bruegger’s bagels and sandwiches! Wow, all this, and it’s not even mother’s day yet. 🙂 Soon, it was time for Sid the Science Kid Live! So, we all packed up and were off to Memorial Auditorium. The kids were super excited to be there, and seemed to really get into the show. The theme was learning about the five senses, and a nice selection of their favorite songs from the TV show were featured. Brandon and I were kind of snickering about all the WiLd GeStuREs! and ridiculous OVER ACTING!! that the performers put themselves through, to try and approximate the animation style. It was a little much for us, but the kids really had fun. By intermission, they were so pumped up! They were also begging for the items they saw the other kids with, so we made our way to the swag table. They each picked out a t-shirt, and the crazy overpriced LED light sticks–those marketing folks are brilliant, really, selling $12 plastic items that kids flip out over to a captive audience of parents. 😉 Okay, okay, they really were pretty cool–we’re telling ourselves that they can still use them for Halloween or something..! The second half of the show was probably even more fun and exciting for them, now that they had their light sticks! After the show, they happily played in some clover they saw on the way back to the car. I thought they’d be too warm wearing their new tees on top of their regular shirts, but they wouldn’t take those Sid shirts off for anything! 😀

Grandma Cheryl looked up Sid on You Tube and he is a pretty smart guy.
