Sunday Toy Store

We planned on taking it easy this Sunday morning, starting out with a leisurely breakfast, wherein Bran created a fruit rainbow.  Pretty cool, Brian!  Once we were ready to face the day, we thought we’d visit the toy store, since we had a $5 reward coupon that expired after today.  There was a thing or two we remembered from the last time, and we thought we’d keep it under control..  But of course we didn’t!  One of the main purchases today was a suitcase for each kid.  A Lego-themed one for Brian, and a Hello Kitty-themed one for Kendall.  We liked the designs, and they were the last ones in the store, and had been discontinued–so it was today or never!  The kids liked all sorts of things, and had fun playing with the Power Wheels cars.  We’re not going to get those, ever, but they are cool to see.  Particularly the Hello Kitty one!  Kendall really loved that. 😉  The kids were in rare form by the time we checked out, and we ended up forgetting the $5 coupon after all.  We had been thinking about picking up some lawn chairs after the concert in the park the other day, and we found a cute Hello Kitty one for Kendall.  We knew we’d probably find some for the rest of us at Dick’s Sporting Goods afterward, so we let the kids get an ice cream treat, and we stayed in the car and enjoyed those while Brandon went in and bought us each a collapsible lawn chair.  Kendall had a Hello Kitty popsicle, which was pretty special for her!  We had a nice dinner, including some caprese kabobs from the Fresh Market.  The kids were so excited about their suitcases, they just kept on playing with them, even after bath time!  They can’t wait to take them on the road this summer. 🙂
