Just another lazy Saturday for the Perkins clan–oh, no wait, we don’t have those. 🙂 It was the crazy-busy kind of Saturday that we usually have! We started things off bright and early with a Lego Movie-themed Lego meeting. Next up, a Lowe’s Build and Grow where Brian built a cool How To Train Your Dragon 2 Sheep Launcher game! He thinks this is awesome, and really, it works way better than you’d think! After that, we met up to head over to Goddard School for their annual Birthday Party celebration. There was free food, snow cones, games, a bouncy house, and of course, fun things to do in every classroom! Ty was in attendance, and he and Brian had a fantastic time catching up with each other. We spent the most time in Brian’s last classroom with Ms. Tanisha, and the kids played with the big blocks for quite awhile! We ate in shifts, and Ty’s mom brought the kids their Kona Ice treats. We closed the party down, as usual, since the kids just couldn’t bear to leave! They got some balloons to take home, since the staff was already cleaning up. 😉 Back at home, Kendall napped, and Brian shared with us some of his items from camp last week, including a cool treasure map! Rosemary came by in the afternoon, and brought some of Brian’s clay projects that he’d done with her earlier this year. They painted his bear brown, and his bird yellow with an orange bill. Maybe it’s a duckling. 🙂 Rosemary also brought each kid a new plush toy (a Kitty for Kendall and a puppy for Brian), and some small natural wood blocks that the kids had a great time decorating with markers! It looked so fun, I even got in on some of that action. 🙂 Kendall loved stacking and knocking the little blocks down, and was so excited when we put a letter K on them for her! She recognizes a good number of letters already, but none more so than K! “Dat’s a K! K my Kendall!” is what she says when she sees one. 🙂 We decided to have a movie night during dinner, and since Brian has now done two Build and Grow projects about How to Train Your Dragon 2 without knowing what this Dragon thing is all about, we finally convinced him to watch the first movie, which we’d previously purchased on DVD/BluRay. He might have been on the fence before we started it but..! It was so good! Wow. Brian absolutely has fallen in love with this franchise. We all liked it even more than we thought we would. Really, it’s a great movie–I honestly could watch it again and again. We’ve decided to go and see the sequel in the theaters tomorrow! I am way more excited about that than a grownup probably should be. 😉 Brian was so taken with the soundtrack, he was humming and singing some of the themes for the rest of the night, flapping his arms and pretending to be flying around like a dragon! I have already bought him some of the soundtrack songs on iTunes. 🙂 We made some mint chocolate chip cookies for dessert during the movie, which were a huge hit with Brian–he couldn’t even tell us how good they were at first, waving us off saying “Oh. Mmm.. Just.. Just forgetaboutit!” (followed by dropping the sign language for “I love you.”) 😀

Brian, you did great work on the yellow bird, brown bear, pirate map and launcher. Kendall, hurray for K.
