Today we started our summer beach trip! We hit up the Bojangles on the way down, and discovered they had special BoBerry biscuits! For the 4th of July they have patriotic red “strawberry” and blue “blueberry” bits to go along with the white icing. Awesome. We shared a couple of them for dessert and they were better than they had any right to be. 😉 Afterward we hit the road again, and like the Beach Boys sang, “we’ll get there fast, and then we’ll take it slow!” We spent the afternoon relaxing around the house, walking out on the pier, and playing giant checkers with Grandma Sue (yep, they’re the Cracker Barrel ones!) At bedtime, I surprised the kids with their new personalized summertime surfboard pillow cases. They love personalized things like that! We all loved that cute “North Shore” surfboard design from Pottery Barn Kids, since there were matching girl and boy versions, but I couldn’t justify/afford the matching quilts and sheets. 🙁 But the pillow cases are cute by themselves. The kids enjoyed snuggling up on them for story time! I thought Kendall was really cute getting ready for bed, brushing her teeth, up on her tippy toes!
