This morning, the kids were being so silly, dancing and playing with their playsilks and the chaise lounge pillow. When Brian was wearing that pillow+scarf on his head, he (inexplicably and repeatedly) called it his “Taco Hat”. (edit: Kendall evidently remembers that, since she put the pillow on her head and called it “Taco Hat” today–January 2, 2015!! The girl remembers ev-ar-y-thing.) We decided to take the kids to Marbles today since it was Goddard School Day, and as usual, it was a hoot and a half. The kids played with all their usual favorites: the pirate ship, the fishing boat, the ambulance, the farm animals, the giant blocks, the kitchen/restaurant and grocery store, and the under the sea room. The “News Around Town” was a new feature, and we tried to get Kendall to notice Brian and Daddy on the screen–they were standing over by the ambulance! The kids played with the giant foam blocks for the longest time before we even went in–they were making each other very fancy royal thrones! The outdoor water play area was another highlight today, perfect on a hot August afternoon. We had lunch at Pogo afterward which is always delicious (hands-down, they have the best damn fried okra in NC.) Both kids ate a good lunch, and were able to realize their dream of getting the Hershey’s shakes, that you buy out of a freezer case and have spun up by the special machine–it’s all very exciting. 😉 I picked up a few things at Target later this afternoon, and surprised the kids at bathtime with a super-fun-looking How to Train Your Dragon bathtub Berk Island playset! It has a lot of cool features, including a miniature viking ship, water wheel, slide, a place to stow your dragon (or maybe it’s a house for your rider?), and of course a Hiccup figure and a Toothless that squirts water (instead of plasma blasts!) They were just over the moon about that toy! 😀
I’m pretty sure the score in this section of How to Train Your Dragon is what they are humming/singing when they are playing dragons in the tub! Especially the themes at 0:35 and 1:57, those are really recognizable when Brian does it!

That chocolate shake must have been yummy and needed for energy after all playtime at Marbles. I did not know anything about “How to Train Your Dragon” until the video and bath set.
