It’s Halloween! Still one of my favorite holidays, even if I’m not doing the dressing up anymore. 😉 Lucky for us, Halloween is a big deal at Red Hat and we always have one of our excellent parties. This year, they really pulled out the stops and had “haunted” elevators in the morning when we arrived, with decorations, sound effects, even including staff dressed up like creepy operators that took us to to our “final destination“–mwa-ha-ha!!! They were great. The party at the Lincoln Theater, the show, and costume contest were a lot of fun as usual (the free beer and leaving work early also helps.) We bugged out after the official events were over, and enjoyed playing hooky and having some time for ourselves before we had to pick up the kids! Once we did, we got everyone dressed and took to the neighborhood to play trick-or-treat! It was sort of hit-or-miss, maybe half of the houses weren’t participating, but there were certainly enough folks passing out candy that the kids still got a pretty ridiculous haul of candy! Everyone thought our Buttercup Fairy and Viking were incredibly adorable. Back home, the kids dumped out their haul in their clubhouse, and Brian even sorted, counted, and catalogued every last piece of his candy, writing it all out on the piece of cardboard his sword and shield came on. We let them sample a pretty decent amount of their treats (and managed to sneak some for ourselves!) before finally calling it a night.

Kendall is precious as the Buttercup Fairy and Brian is a mighty Viking.
