We kicked off the holiday season in earnest today, and put up our tree and decorated it! We still haven’t replaced our tree or lights to have something more “normal”, so we had our rainbow tree again this year! We had a bunch of new ornaments, mostly for the kids–a Buttercup Fairy to remember Kendall’s birthday and Halloween costume, an Olaf and Queen Elsa from frozen, two different Hiccup and Toothless ornaments from How to Train Your Dragon, a turtle sandbox, a Sandcrawler from Star Wars, Captain Rex and Yoda from Clone Wars to remember Brian’s birthday party, an air hockey table, Rapunzel, Tinker Bell, lots of Legos, and even more..! Yes, it’s a crazy mixed up pop culture tree, but it’s ours, and we will have lots of precious memories about why all these things are on our tree for years to come. (Ooookay, I guess I’ve been reading too many of those Keepsake boxes, I’ve become assimilated…!) Getting Thomas and friends set up under the tree is always a big hit with both kids, and I know they’ll be playing with the trains (and driving us crazy with the songs!) non-stop for the next month. 😀 Also included, a photo of the “Christmas Car & Truck” we saw down the street, and one of the boys at the hockey game tonight.
