Today I let Brian work on his Crystal Mining set–basically, three interesting rocks in a brick of plaster of paris, where the objective is to slowly saw them out with a plastic knife. Talk about busy work! But, the kids found it fun and exciting, to see what will get uncovered. While putting some things away while the kids were otherwise occupied, I suddenly remembered the silver bowl that we’d bought in India, and the two tiny silver spoons we’d bought at the same time, just in case we got married and had a baby one day. We were in line, checking out, and I was holding the one tiny spoon we’d picked out. Our eyes met and we both said something like, “ah, maybe get a second one–you never know.” So, our babies both had silver spoons since 1999, even though we didn’t actually feed them with those spoons! We’d more or less forgotten about the spoons, I guess (and were busy, carefully feeding the kids with the safest, most age-appropriate modern flatware.) 😉 We had dinner at Grandma Sue’s house, and saw the Easter Egg decorations Brian had made! Kendall was really excited about her dessert of ice cream, chocolate syrup, and the best part–rainbow sprinkles!

Sweet story about the silver spoons
