Kendall sure was a cutie this morning, playing with her blocks. Brian drew this cute little robot on the easel paper–so many colors for a little droid! Brandon went to check and see if Steve’s marker had been installed yet. It hadn’t, but, they have it onsite and it should be ready soon. He pretty much insisted that Brandon come take a look at it, since it was out sitting on some sawhorses. 🙂 I spied a pretty amazing piece of artwork on the couch today–but it seems I’m not supposed to know about it just yet, so… ssshh! I won’t tell if you won’t. 😉
Also, today was pretty huge for me–I applied for a new job at Red Hat. I’m super nervous and I know I’m not qualified, but previously when I spoke with my director about information security, he asked me why I didn’t apply for a previous opening. I said I couldn’t possibly, I’ve never done that work before. He got rather agitated and made me promise to apply if something else opened up. Well, it’s been more than a year since then, but I remembered his words well, and I did apply this time. 🙂 As scary as it is pushing that “submit” button, even scarier was that I had to tell my current boss that I’d applied for another job internally. He can be a rather volatile and backstabby sort of boss (wonder why I’m not loving the current job..!) but he took the news graciously, for him. He kept the backhanded compliments in the single digits. 😉 Whew! First step down, next, we’ll see if they want to interview me.
