Today there were Mother’s Day parties at both kids’ schools, so I stepped out from work twice to attend them. Brian’s class presented a really cute program, complete with poems and songs, and Brian delivered his lines beautifully. Brian gave me a set of lovely gifts that he’d made himself, and I really loved the picture + bio he made for me! My favorite bit was his answer to “The hardest part about being a mom would be”: “Wrcking at Red Hat all day, dowing WRCK WRCK WRCK!” I laughed so hard at that, in a wry sort of way, and said I might just have to show that to my boss. I’ve not exactly been happy with work for awhile now, and a big reason is my douchey boss (sorry, there’s just not a better adjective to describe this guy). Anyhoo… I did enjoy Brian’s presentation, and was happy to see some of his artwork in the halls at school. Afterward I “wrcked” some more, until it was time for Kendall’s party. I was presented with a cute handprint picture with an adorable quote, and we helped ourselves to a plate of yummy snacks–lemon cake and fruit! The school was full to bursting, so we just took our treats outside and ate on the sidewalk. Afterward, we went home a little early, and Kendall enjoyed riding her tricycle in the garage. 🙂
