This week was pretty special! We were all excited as the New Horizons craft finally made it to Pluto, and we got to see everyone’s favorite dwarf planet in beautiful detail for the first time. We’d been talking to Brian about it for years, and we were so happy that everything went well with the mission. I got the kids an Etch-A-Sketch this week, I figure it’s one of those classic things that every kid needs. It seems flimsier than the ones we had back in the day, but it works just the same! Getting the kids to share it has been a challenge, but I’m trying to not buy two of *everything*.. We’ll see how long that lasts. 😉 I let Kendall watch some classic “Sailor Moon” episodes with me. I’m not sure now why I did that, maybe because I wanted her to see all the times where crying doesn’t solve the main character’s problems! (I’ve heard from Kendall’s teachers that she’s now saying “crying doesn’t solve your problems!” at school!) In any case, Kendall loves the show and asks to watch it all the time, and she loves doing Sailor Moon’s famous catch phrases and transformation poses–“Moon Prism Power Make Up!” “I’m Sailor Moon, and in the name of the Moon, I will punish you!” Hilarious. 😉 Also included, a pretty amazing double rainbow over Red Hat photo that a coworker tweeted from his downtown high-rise home during an afternoon thunderstorm. I bet the marketing folks loved that!
