Picture Day, Pumpkins, Kanki

It was family picture day today!  We showed up and were thrown a bit of a curve ball–the studio is under renovation, and they had set up shop in the old catalog desk area.  This made the kids a bit rambunctious, and the lights and crowds made the whole experience a bit crazy.  Everyone was hot and stressed out!  Kendall took antsy to a whole new level.  Hope something turns out, anyway–these are for our holiday card, after all.  😉  This afternoon we went to the farmer’s market to get pumpkins, always a fun time!  Brian is Mr. Indecisive, wanting every pumpkin he sees, and the bigger, the better.  Kendall mostly just runs around, taking it all in!  They both like picking out little gourds.  This year, we got a variety of non-standard color pumpkins, and one of those cool apple gourds.  We have a plan for carving these colorful pumpkins, you’ll have to wait and see if we can pull it off!  😀  Finally, tonight we had our annual birthday dinner at Kanki with Sue and Marci.  I thought about my dad a lot, since these birthday dinners had become something of a tradition in recent years.  It was nice to have this time with everyone, especially since I’ll miss the next Sunday dinner.  I can’t believe I’ll be heading to the Czech Republic in less than a week!  Our chef was a lot of fun, and the kids were well entertained, as usual!  Brian loves the trick soy sauce bottle, and the big fire, of course.  🙂
